SURVIVAL PET FIRST AID KIT BELT BAG

Most pet first aid happens a long way from where the kit is. Halfway along a beach, three kilometres into a trail, at the far end of the off-lead park. By the time you have walked back to the car, you have lost the part that mattered.

The SURVIVAL Pet First Aid KIT Belt Bag weighs 544 grams and sits on your hip. Wear it at the waist, on the hip, or across the body on the adjustable strap. It goes where the dog goes, which is the entire point of it.

Built for what actually happens

Everything inside is colour-coded and labelled, so you are reading tabs instead of digging. Red for trauma, blue for hygiene, black for utilities, green for information. You can find what you need one-handed, while holding a frightened animal.

  • A torn or quicked nail. Fido's Styptic Gel stops the bleeding quickly, which is often the difference between a mess and a vet trip.
  • Cut paws and pads. Saline to flush the wound, gauze to clean it, and a self-cohesive bandage that sticks to itself rather than to your dog's coat, so taking it off does not pull on fur or skin.
  • Snake bite. The SMART Bandage is the same bandage we use for snake and Funnel-web bites in our human kits. For dogs and for people.
  • Ticks, splinters and grass seeds. A tick removal spoon, tweezers with a tip guard, and two sterile splinter probes.
  • Deeper wounds. Wound closure strips to hold a split together, a combine dressing for heavier bleeding, and a non-adherent dressing for burns and abrasions that will not tear the wound when you remove it.

Enough for a nicked pad on a Tuesday walk. Enough to steady something serious while you get to a vet.

Not just for the dog

Almost everything in here is the same first aid we put in our human kits. If you are the one who goes down on the trail, nothing about this bag changes. Which matters, because when you are a long way from a vet you are usually a long way from a doctor too.

You will forget you are wearing it

544 grams, sitting flat against your hip. Light enough not to nag at you on a long walk. Small enough that it never becomes the thing you leave behind because it is a hassle. A kit back at home has never helped anyone.
